- A master project is great…when you wanna see what's going on in several projects…or you wanna create task dependencies between projects.…They work well as well as long as you add…only a small number of projects to them.…More than 40, and you're looking for trouble.…Once you have your projects connected to a resource pool,…it's easy to create a master project…that contains all of them.…Let's go to the Exercise Files folder.…I'm gonna open up the sub-folder for Chapter 10…and I'm gonna open up the resource pool…that we used in an earlier movie.…
It's ResourcePool_1003.…I double-click that and that launches Project.…It also opens up…the Open Resource Pool dialog box.…If we wanna create a master project,…we wanna head directly to the third option.…What that's gonna do is open the resource pool read-write.…It opens all the other sharer files…and it opens them into a new master project file.…Well that's what we want so go ahead and click OK.…
What you see initially is the resource pool.…To see our new file, go to the VIEW tab…
