- In Microsoft Project Server 2013, as well as…in previous versions, there's an Enterprise Global setting…that allows you to make changes to that global.mpt file…that Project Professional uses.…The Enterprise file contains all of the Enterprise objects…that are available to users, for example, Views,…Tables, Groups, Filters, and Reports.…When you use Project Professional,…and it connects to Project Server, it will always pick up…the latest version of the Enterprise Global…as it's loaded and cached for the client computer.…
I'm going to do that by selecting Microsoft Project icon…on my desktop, and selecting my Project Server connection…under the Login option and press OK.…Open Other Projects from the left navigation.…On the Info area, I can see that…I have the Organize Global Template.…Now this contains both Microsoft Project…by it's application on this machine,…along with the Enterprise Global option for me…to be able to open that Enterprise Global template.…
Now when the two are opened simultaneously,…you get the local file global.mpt file cached…
