- [Instructor] There are several ways to create custom fields and measures in Power BI. I've brought us to the DAX Analysis Expressions DAX Reference. In here, you can see that there are date and time functions, time intelligence, math functions, and we're going to use one called a statistical function. This is a great reference for you to be able to understand more about what DAX can offer. There are basically two types of data types in DAX, numerics and other types. Numerics meaning integers, decimals, Booleans, date/time, currency, those types of things. And others being strings which are strings or binary objects. I'm going to use a statistical function called a COUNT. I've expanded that and I'm going to select the COUNT here.
