- [Instructor] In Power BI, there are two types of basic roles, owners and shared users. Before we go off and create several new reports, we should understand the term owner. Owner is the person that has created the report and will publish it to the Power BI service. In this case, I've logged in as Sally Smith, and when she publishes the report to the Power BI service, she is the one that has full control over that report. In the shared Power BI service, I can see which reports are shared with an end-user. They do not have the rights to control what the privileges are with the refresh schedule, the data structure, and, of course, who they share it with, right? So the Power BI's report, the ownership, retains full control. So it's important to understand how your organization may want to manage those reports.
