In this video, instructor Claudine Peet explains the key roles responsible for benefits identification, tracking, and realisation in a project.
- Everyone who's involved in a project…has some degree of responsibility for benefits management,…so let's look at who should be doing what.…First of all, it's very important that benefits…are managed at a higher level in the organization,…so benefits management should start…at a corporate or portfolio level…by identifying strategic objectives…which will then break down into…smaller benefits for each project and program.…So, basically make sure that what you're working on…supports the high level objectives.…
If it doesn't align, don't start working on it.…One of the first people to be…involved is the portfolio director.…This should be someone very senior…who has a high level view of the overall…strategic objectives for the business.…They'll be responsible for ensuring the board support…for the investment in benefits management,…and that there are benefits management…procedures in place that can be applied…at portfolio, program, and project level.…
Another vital role is the portfolio program…and/or project office, also known as a PMO.…
