- It's a common myth that Agile means no documentation, and I'd like to clear this up. For Agile business analysts and product owners, we focus on documenting product and customer contacts. We work to create meaningful assets for the team that create a shared understanding and speed-up collaboration. Agile documentation creates reminders of the big picture and memories of details to reference while we work. So since it's a myth, one of the most common questions I hear is, what does need to be documented? Well first, the planning tools need to be documented. And by this, I'm referring to the product vision, product roadmap, and release plan. They need to be documented. The team needs to have a big picture and a path to guide them, and these are great assets for the team to use. Without these, the team might seem lost at times and create re-work due to not knowing what direction they're headed.
