Swarm intelligence
- What do bees and ants have to do with digital transformations and artificial intelligence? It's not a bad joke, I promise. It's swarm intelligence. Based on the ideas of crowdsourcing, it helps customers and organizations be more efficient in many ways. Currently, organizations use a lot of data, surveys and statistical analysis to understand where a problem lies with inventory, routing and logistics, customer feedback, marketing, teams and production. These data sets are great, but don't provide solutions. Swarm intelligence is about getting decentralized units to swarm collectively towards a goal. The units can be ants, bees, humans, cars, robots, systems, networks or many other things. Swarm intelligence not only sees the problems, but dynamically and in real time deploys solutions. It's modeled after animal behavior, like ants and bees, where the individuals talk to the others closest to them, and very quickly, the swarms of data collide to balance out and moderate the larger…
