Robotic process automation
- Could a robot enter data on the screen for users? And would that mean a physical robot, about five feet tall? Or is this an invisible robot? It's a bit surreal to think about what Robotic Process Automation really is, and how it works. Well, Robotic Process Automation, or RPA, is meant to mimic the work humans do when interacting with the machine. But, without the metal physical robot. Now for many legacy processes and systems, RPA is a great option. It can take manual processes and speed them up dramatically, without needing to spend as much time and money on expensive systems integrations. So, for example, if you have a system where users enter data and that data needs to be sent to another system, a traditional IT solution might build a Data Interface between the two systems. This can take a good amount of time, to understand the data, rules, file structures, write up the requirement specifications, develop and test. A quick solution using RPA can rapidly deploy a configurable…
