Requirements levels

- Requirements come in different levels of detail. Consider the project to build a house. When we first sit down to discuss the requirements at high level, these will be fairly vague and most likely focus on outcomes. For example, the house must be large enough to accommodate a family of five comfortably and provide a usable outdoor garden. The reason for this is that it is very difficult at an early stage to define the tiny, little details, like where the plug sockets and the light switches will go. This level of detail only emerges at a later stage, once we know more about the higher level requirements. So, there are different levels of requirements. The high level requirements are typically identified in the early stages of the project, such as the house must have five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
