Product owner
- The Product Owner, or PO, is a critical role on every Scrum Team. The PO, just as the name implies, is the sole accountable party for the product the development team is building. It's important to know that the PO is just one person, not a committee or group of people. The PO is very strongly recommended to be a person from the business. This business representative needs to be experienced enough to answer development team questions. They also need to have sufficient influence in the organization to negotiate product backlog items or PBIs with their peers and leaders. And finally, they must have strong interpersonal skills across different levels of the organization to ensure support for the product and the development team. With these key skills, the PO is entrusted with making all the decisions related to the product.
