- When your project is creating a new process,…new product or a new system,…like a brand new website or app,…it's common to wonder where to start.…It's important to understand why the organization…is looking for a new solution.…I would start by asking key stakeholders…a few high impact questions.…For example, what does success look like?…And, what are the reasons we're willing…to spend a large amount of time and money…on a new solution?…I would also ask individuals and groups…of stakeholders to describe their challenges…with the current solution.…
Additionally, I would try to understand…if the challenges are related…to why a new solution is being implemented.…Next, I would use a context diagram…to scope things out.…It would help me in identifying…the various actors that would use the system,…product or process.…And I might also use a process model…to map out the current and future state processes,…to get a shared understanding from the team…what's expected to change with the new solution.…I would use the process model…
