- Would you let a system type for you if it could? How about letting a machine analyze data and type up a summary for you? Or, better yet, would you be amazed if a system could look at multiple datasets of different structures, analyze them, and summarize them in a written report? Yes, it's happening and it's called natural language generation, or NLG. Natural language generation is an artificial intelligence capability that automates data into readable text. Now, that takes a moment to digest, doesn't it? Data into text. So, think about whenever a human looks at or analyzes data and then writes something about it. Think about anything people write in a business environment, like formal written communications and reports. Some examples of how organizations are using natural language generation and processing are generating letters and forms, and creating text summaries of datasets.
