- Only 50% of PMOs survive within three years of their setup. You and I both know that PMOs are far more valuable than the probability of a coin toss, but what you are not saying doesn't matter. What does matter is what your stakeholders think of your PMO. You're sharing the results of your PMO for everyone in your organization to see. Are your stakeholders observing any differences in the organization with your PMO around? Should you be doing anything else? Yes. You should be constantly looking for ways to add even more value to your organization. Word spreads around within any organization fairly quickly, so if things are going well, there's a strong chance that others will come straight to you asking for more. For instance, if you've set up a PMO specifically for your HR department, and the PMO is meeting the department's growing expectations, the IT department may want a PMO, too.
