- Benefits won't realize themselves. They take a concerted effort by a number of people in the organization. These people will have a far greater chance of success in realizing benefits if a number of factors are present in the organization and are supported by the appropriate people. So the first of the success factors needed to ensure effective benefits realization is to always align the project benefits to the corporate strategy. In order to do this, it makes sense for the project to initially identify how their expected benefits contribute to the overall strategic objectives. Furthermore, this alignment should be further reviewed at each stage of the project to ensure continual alignment. Next is to assign accountability for benefits realization.
