Importance in projects

- Let's take a quick look at why identifying and prioritizing requirements in a project is so important. First of all, let's take the example of building a website. You wouldn't just start creating a website without first finding out who needs to use it, what it needs to do, and how it's supposed to be used. And also, what's the most important part to get up and running first. In a project environment it's important to understand at high level what your key requirements are and how important they are to deliver. So, for a website project we've identified at high level that we need to process online payments and we have prioritized this as a must-have requirement. Another useful reason for defining and prioritizing our requirements is that we'll be able to estimate how long the project will take and how much it will cost.
