How to identify benefits

- The first step in the benefits management process is to identify the benefits. And one of the best ways to do this is with a benefits management workshop. So let's take a look at the why, when, who, and how. The purpose of the workshop is to create a benefits map and analyze the expected benefits. The workshop is not a one time event. It starts in the feasibility as part of the outline of the business case and is used to provide the justification for the project. As the project moves into the definition stage, a second workshop is held to analyze and refine the benefits further. If the project is delivering incrementally, benefits can be realized in the delivery stage and additional workshops can be held to review and document any emerging benefits.
