- Every project needs to have a clear approach as to how benefits will be managed. There needs to be guidance on the procedures that must be followed, techniques that need to be used, and specific responsibilities that will need to be made clear. To make sure the relevant roles know the procedures to follow, you'll need to have a defined benefits management strategy that then sets out exactly how benefits will be identified, tracked, and realized. Now before you go rush off and write a strategy, first check to see if your project is part of a wider program. If it is, there's a very high chance that the program has a benefits management strategy already, so all you need to do for your strategy is reference the policies and procedures in the program strategy.
