Development team
- Let's start by differentiating between the Scrum Team and the development team. The Scrum Team consists of the product owner, Scrum master, and the development team. The development team is the specific group of people tasked with creating a potentially shippable product increment at the end of the sprint. So, who's on this team to make that happen? Well, very simply, the development team is the group of people with all the skills needed to do the work that's defined in the product backlog. It seems simple enough until you start exploring some of the details. The development team consists of three to nine people. Fewer than three development team members has been proven to be ineffective. There just isn't enough interaction to generate substantial productivity gains.
