- One of the common traits of high-performing leaders is that they focus intensely on results. And when they start a new initiative, they deliver selected results in a short period of time. In other words, they make quick wins a priority. Well, that's hardly a surprise. Quick wins are important because they promptly fix challenges and show that you, the new PMO leader, can get things done. I hope that you've committed some quick wins to your stakeholders. If not, do it now. Let me walk you through three examples of executing PMO quick wins. Example one: the executive-friendly dashboard. If you want to command the attention of executives, you need to reel them in very quickly. One I was setting up a PMO with an insurance company and wanted to create a dashboard designed for its executives so I focused on less text, big fonts, plain language, and a conscious use of color.
