- All projects have a start and they have a finish. Here's the thing though. Ya can't finish a project without first completing and closing out the project deliverables. How you close your deliverables is important. Your goal is to deliver spectacular results and leave a positive impression in stakeholders' minds. This can be accomplished by making sure all project work has been completed. That means project objectives are met and the customer formally accepts the project deliverables by signing off on them. Once these take place, you can move to contract closure. Intuitively, this should make sense. However, it's easy to fall into the trap of just getting work done without paying enough attention to standards of completeness.
