Assign resources to tasks

- [Narrator] People perform tasks, so you need to assign resources to the tasks in your schedule, that way, everyone knows who is doing what. In addition, you might have to adjust the schedule for when people are available. For each task in your project, assign the people who are going to do the work. In the office project, Beth, the business owner, and Jane are both going to look for new office space. However, people don't always work on tasks full time. Jane might do most of the office search, while Beth only looks at the spaces Jane thinks are suitable. Jane is assigned the task at 100%, while Beth spends 10% of her time. People's availability can affect your project's schedule. If someone can't work full time, the task they're working on will span more workdays. To see how people affect the schedule, let's look at the tasks in a diagram called a Gantt chart, which shows when tasks occur over time.
