- [Instructor] Most of us just set up or reverbs by ear, but hit-making mixers know they need to do more in order for reverb to work in the modern mix. Here's a way that you can time your reverbs to work seamlessly in the track. So the first thing we'll do, is we'll listen to this track. It's very simple, it's guitar, bass, drums, and a vocal. And there's no effects whatsoever. So listen to a little. It sounds pretty good, but we can make it sound better. So what we want to do is add reverb and time it to the track. So what I'm going to do is come over here and add our old friend the Deverb. The Deverb is a native Pro Tools plugin. So we're not using anything exotic here. Let me show you something. We're using the Hall algorithm, and we're using the Large size. And the reason why I'm using that is just to make it obvious what we're doing. If we use anything that's smaller, it might not be nearly as obvious and I want you to hear the difference. So the first thing we're going to do is…
