- [Instructor] For many types of music, a kick that's tuned to the rest of the track is essential. Here's how to tune that kick without having to replace it or record it all over again. So first of all, let's listen to the track. Concentrate on the kick and also on the bass. (electronic music) (drums) Now, as you can hear, the kick really doesn't have a sound of its own. What we want to do is to give it a tone, and a tone that matches the key of the song. We'll just add another track here. Let's hit new, mono, create aux track. We'll call this tone. And what we're going to do is add our signal generator once again, down here we say signal generator. Now we'll set it to a sine wave. (beep) This is at 1000 cycles, 1k, but we want to do something a lot less than that. Actually, we want to bring it down somewhere less than 100 cycles, and let's start, first of all, 56, so you can hear it. Now the next thing we want to do is key this tone off of the kick drum.
