- [Instructor] Everyone is aware that attacks have to be right on to make things sound tight, but not many realize that the releases are just as important. Here's a couple of examples of how to make things super tight, by concentrating on the backend of a phrase. So, first of all, let's listen to this vocal phrase. Keep in mind, whatever we do, can also apply to instruments as well. So, if you have a number of instruments playing, the attacks and the releases, and what we do here has to apply there too. So, listen to these vocals first. (vocal music) I can hear they were kind of staggered at the end. Not all of them ended at exactly the same time. In fact, there was one that really stood out as being a lot longer than the others. So, there's a real easy way to fix this. And the first thing we'll do is we'll go to wherever the longest one is, which is right here, and we'll make a cut. And, we'll just move it back until we get to the shortest one, which is right there. And then, we'll…
