Prepping electric bass with RX 5

- [Voiceover] In a lot of the mixes I'm sent to finish, bass guitar has been tracked with the simple DI and no compression. Sometimes there's noises and artifacts the need to be addressed in order to get the bass to fit into a mix properly. (music) - You can hear something like right there where there's a volume shift and there's maybe some scratchy notes. So let's try using the Isotope RX5 to go in and look at some of the problems we've got on the bass track right here. We're gonna use the Isotope RX5 connect plug in to send it over to the stand alone version of RX. There we are. We've got a couple of spots I want to go to to look for problems. The first thing was that volume jump, as the bass is digging in, there's not enough compression, or maybe just some sloppy playing. I'll admit that I might have been the bass player on that. And let's look at the notes here. We can zoom way in. It's right in this area here. (bass playing) - The problem is actually these low notes when it drops…
