Parallel vocal compression with midrange EQ

- [Instructor] When mixing, we tend to think of always applying compression directly on the source. But many times, using parallel compression can be a better choice. For vocals, parallel compression can help retain the dynamics of the original performance, while boosting the core of the singer's voice and keeping the words present in the mix. See my original video on parallel vocal compression for the basics of setting this up and experimenting with it. For this video, we will try applying EQ to the parallel compressed vocal track. I've made a preset for the EQ called Band Pass, where I can easily trim the high and low frequencies.
