- [Voiceover] Monitoring your mix is a really important aspect of being successful at creating mixes that translate well into different systems that they may be played on. You know, a car system, a living room system where it's playing in the background, and headphones where a lot of people listen to the mixes you've done. And I think there's a question as to whether or not the difference between putting your headphones on and taking them off in your mix room is a beneficial rallying point to judge how much ambiance to add to your mix. And my solution has always been that, I think it's good to listen to it both ways. You're always striving to hear your mix in a context that your listeners are going to be hearing it in. And we certainly cannot ignore the fact that a lot of people listen to their tunes on headphones and earbuds. I have always been a proponent of kind of switching back and forth. And I do that. I mainly switch to headphones towards the end of the mix that I'm working on…
