Kick drum low end in the mix

- [Instructor] It's the eternal question, or at least one that you should be asking yourself when you're mixing your tracks. How much low end should the kick drum have? Different styles of music require varying amounts, but even within any genre, there is always room for a wide range of bottom end that can be present from the kick drum in the mix. I've set up a rough mix of this song, and then applied three different shelf-based EQ settings centered at 100 hertz on the kick drum track. Number one is plus 3 dB. Number two is minus 3 dB, and number three is minus 5 dB for a drastic check. Let's listen to EQ one.
