Importing video

Importing video into a Pro Tools session is just as easy as importing any other type of data. Go to the File menu, choose Import > Video. Find your movie file, and you'll see the Video Import Options dialog box, you can choose where to put it onto a new track, and I'll choose the session start, and you can choose to import the audio from the file, let's try it. When you choose to import the audio, Pro Tools wants to know where you want to put the audio files, and you'll usually just want to stick them right into the Audio Files folder within the session.

So now you see the video file on this video track, and the audio file. I am going to press play and you'll see just a little bit of it. (Video Playing) Now Avid recommends that you store audio and video files on separate dedicated hard drives.
