Exploring patching with Ableton Live

- [Instructor] One of the things I really like to do when working with generative patchable synthesizers is route the audio from that synthesizer to another draw in my DAW, so that I can go back later, chop it up, maybe put it in a sampler, and use it in another production. So what I have here is Ableton Live and I have the ARP 2600 loaded up on a midi channel. And by the way, all of the plugins in the V collection you can usually load into pretty much any DAW and you can also use standalone. Standalone is great if you're using the plugins for a live performance and don't want to use as much CPU, but of course, in your DAW for recording, you have so many options to go back and edit for later. Since I'm going to be tweaking so many parameters, I'm just going to go ahead and record the audio. I could, of course, keep every parameter mapped as I'm tweaking it, and record the midi for later manipulation in Ableton. But I'm just going to go record the audio. So this is how I have it set…
