EQ stereo sends to plate reverb

EQ stereo sends to plate reverb: Real Recording School Weekly
EQ stereo sends to plate reverb: Real Recording School Weekly

Find out how to set up a path where the stereo feeds of a plate reverb plug-in get different EQ treatments with opposite cut and boost settings. The reverb seems more open with this technique, making the plate reverb less thick in the center of the mix. This EQ trick works well, especially on very light, uncluttered mixes. Plate reverbs use a large sheet of stainless steel with a mechanical driver which vibrates the metal with audio signal. That vibration and sustain is captured via pickups.
