Automate EQ on fake strings

- [Instructor] This technique stems from a trick used in a lot of pop and electronic dance music, where an EQ plugin is automated or played like the cutoff filter on a synthesizer. Simply put, slap a one-band EQ plugin on a higher pitched or brighter string synth or sample part, select a low pass filter, then set it up so you can automate the frequency. Set the track to learn your moves, and mouse away. Alright, and here we go. We'll just grab ahold of the frequency. (upbeat instrumental music) (upbeat instrumental music) Now you've got automation that opens up the sound as it moves along here, and you can see it work. (upbeat instrumental music) (string instrumental music) (full upbeat instrumental music) And that can work really great for the beginning of a song, but what about other uses? Let's set up this one.
