- [Instructor] Let's begin with the most typical,…up front kind of impressions people get from your mixes…with the vocals and the ambiences you can apply to vocals,…and one particular kind of ambient device…that really puts a vocal in a location.…I'm going to start with a song here…that I've used quite a lot of different vocal reverbs on,…which is not so normal for me, not so typical for me,…but let's give it a listen.…
This is Adam Yaron, Back in My Life, thank you, Adam,…for letting us use this wonderful song as an example.…So, I'm going to solo the vocal now.…And turn off reverbs one at a time,…and delays until it's dry. And so that's the dry vocal.…
That's the first kind of normal reverb I'd put on it,…put some back in the mix. Turn that off and turn this off.…This is a pitch shifter,…which puts him left and right location wise,…listen how he goes center when I put this off.…Now with the left and right speakers.…
If I ungroup that, you'll hear the sound of just the,…like I said, ungroup that, that's this spread, see?…
