Adding length to abrupt instrument fades

- Many times, I'm sent tracks to mix where instruments have abrupt unnatural fades and I want to hear some sustain happening further into the song at that point. Here's a good example. I actually prepared one that's messed up a little bit. (rock music) If you solo this, you'll hear. (guitar music) You know, it sounds a little abrupt. There's not quite a natural feel. So on a track like this, I'll duplicate it first. Alright, there's our copy, let's mute the original. What I want is to just get some of that stuff at the end. That note, always, watch out for this. This won't work well if it's changing notes right there. Modulating or anything. We got a little of that little... I might actually cut some of that. Alright, so, then we're going to do a very nice and long ramp in and a ramp out of this. So now we have this. (guitar chords) It kinda sounds like a little moan.
