Using images in your design

- We're starting this job with four photos. Look again at how the bird are camouflaged by their backgrounds. This is great for avoiding predators, but not so good for us bird watchers. In situations like this, a lotta times you're just stuck. You need more contrast, and you don't have it. If you can't doctor the photos, and on most jobs you can't or shouldn't, you can try some work-arounds. I'll move the picture so we can see this better. One is to add contrast between the photos in the page. In this case, the easy way to do that is to put the pictures on white. You can add distance between the pictures. A third way is to zoom in so the details get bigger. These work-arounds often work, but in this case, they didn't help much. When this was pointed out to the client, we were green lighted to find better photos. That is not common. A client will usually want or need to use the photos he already has.
