Learn about the different deployment options.
- [Instructor] There are three main deployment scenarios…for Presto I'll mention here…and the first one, of course, is just deploying it…on premise alongside your Hadoop cluster preferably…and this is the most straightforward way to do it.…With that you don't need huge machines…because you'll probably want…to distribute the queries quite a bit…so you can get away with smaller machines…and more of them in your data center…and this is really no major difference…than how you would stand up another cluster…of any other type of system.…Now if you're using Ambari from Hortonworks…they have a built in installer on that platform…and you can use that to get Presto up and running…on your Hadoop cluster.…
And lastly, if you want you can install Presto…in the AWS environment, the Amazon web services.…It works with elastic map reduce…as well as you could use the EC2 instances.…The medium sized ones should do fine for you…and you can stand that up and just make sure…that the connections are everything…so that wherever Presto is running,…
Data science expert Ben Sullins helps you get up to speed with Presto, and leverage it to accomplish a wide-range of data science and analytics tasks. He uses different interfaces with Presto—such as R and Tableau—and digs into the expressive SQL language that Presto offers for your analysis. At the end of this course, you'll know the key concepts of Presto and how to use them to take full advantage of your modern big data system.
