Learn how to set up a connection to a MySQL database from Presto.
- [Narrator] Now let's take a look here at…how to connect to MySQL from Presto.…I'm already logged into Presto…where we left off…so I'm just going to jump out of here…and in fact I'm going to shrink this window down…just a little bit and use the exercise files…which I downloaded with this course.…They're just on my desktop…and if I double-click those…you'll see that I have a bunch of files here…and the one associated with this specific clip…which is 3.2_ConnectingToMySQL…when I drag that over is has all the commands…and everything that we're going to need…specifically the ones about creating…this table here.…
First what I want to do is login to MySQL…and that's preloaded on my virtual machine.…I'll just type MySQL -u for the user…the username and password is root and root.…Then I'm going to copy some syntax here.…You can also get this from Wikipedia…is where the data comes from…which is in the reference on the file there.…If you want you could convert the CSV file…which is from that Wikipedia page…over to a sequel statement…
Data science expert Ben Sullins helps you get up to speed with Presto, and leverage it to accomplish a wide-range of data science and analytics tasks.
