- [Instructor] Now let's take a look…at Connecting to Hive.…Here I have my terminal window which is already…logged into my Presto VM on my Mac.…What I want to do is just take a look…at the connection properties that are built in.…For that, I type vi and the connection properties…are stored in my user folder under .prestoadmin/catalog,…and if I just tab a couple of times here you'll see…I have a couple properties already built.…I have the Hive, tpcds, and tpch.…
I'll take a look at the Hive properties.…All this is is a config file that points Presto…at where Hive lives.…In this VM, this is already setup for me,…but if you were setting this up on your own machine…and you were pointing it to a different Hive cluster,…you would simply need to update these parameters here…with the correct ones for your cluster,…where your Hive cluster actually lives.…That's what's going on with this.…I just need to hit Escape and then :q to exit out of that.…Let's take a look at the Hive environment,…and then we'll go into Presto and preview it from there.…
