- [Narrator] There are wide variety of technical specs that video can exhibit, some of which I've listed here. Let's talk a bit about these terms in relation to how you may need to repurpose videos online. First of all, video resolution. Video resolution is a measurement of the dimensions of video, and is usually presented in terms of how many pixels wide, versus how many pixels high. So for example, one possible measurement for one flavor of HD video, would be 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels, this is called 1080 HD. Then you also have 4K video, which is 3840 pixels by 2160 pixels. So as you can see, 4K media is four times the resolution of HD. Now I also want to talk about video aspect ratio, which is the shape of the video frame, and is usually presented as a ratio. So if we look at the examples I just gave, you can see that the width to length ratio of both HD and 4K media is 1.77 repeating, which is also equal to a ratio of 16 to nine, and we just call this 16 by nine.
