What you should know before watching this course

- [Instructor] Now before watching this course there's a few things that you should know. One is the assumption that you have a basic understanding of how to work from your Pro in order to get the most out of creating Text Templates. A great way to begin your knowledge would be to head over to Premiere Pro The Basics taught by Ashley Kennedy, where you can download some exercise files and really get used to the various Window Layouts as well as workspaces that will allow you to maximize the software that much more for when we start to work with titles. Another thing to be aware of is what operating system you're currently on. Does your system meet the requirements of Premiere Pro and what version of Premiere Pro it is that we're running. So currently if I go to my Mac About this mac I'm using macOS High Sierra. And I can also see by going over here to my creative cloud application, that if I go and look under Apps, that I am up to date with the current version of Premiere Pro. In fact that happens to be version 13.1.4 at the time of this recording. This is required in order for you to open up the Premiere Pro project that I am supplying to you, and to work with all of the new features of essential graphics. This happens to be an area of the interface that Adobe, over the last few releases, has been heavily concentrated on, updating both the interfaces in both Premiere Pro and After Effects allowing for the ease of use and creation of motion graphic templates. So know the current version of Premiere Pro you're on, whether your operating system is optimized to work with Premiere Pro, as well as your current OS, noticing my Mac, you might want to also check that out in terms of your PC to have a great experience. In the next movie we're going to take a look at what we need to know about working with the exercise file.
