Retiming music with Premiere Pro

- Sometimes a cut of music does not quite hit the length that you want or you need, or even a small section is not quite the pace you were hoping for. Premiere Pro can easily slow down or speed up a cut of music and adjust the pitch so it sounds the way it should. To adjust a clip, select it and then right-click on it and choose "Speed/Duration." Now as you see, I can choose to speed up or slow down the clip by percentage, but what's really valuable to me is the ability to select a defined duration. Now this is great if perhaps you have a cut of music that's 32 seconds and it needs to be 27 for a commercial, or maybe you need to stretch things out a little bit. In this case, I'm going to actually slow this down a little bit because I think the pace is a little too quick. So instead of taking it at one minute and one second, let's go ahead and make it one minute and about 10 seconds. And that's going to slow it down by about 10 percent.
