When it comes time to working with exposure and footage, you need to be looking at the footage accurately. Conditions like the lighting of your room or the brightness of your monitor can throw things off. In this movie, author Richard Harrington demonstrates how to use a waveform monitor to accurately view your footage in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Scopes are useful displays built into Premiere Pro…that help you better understand…exposure and color information.…We're going to start with a classic, the Waveform monitor…which can show you both color and exposure.…Click on Lumetri Scopes and make sure from the popup menu…that I'm viewing the Waveform.…Currently, this is set to RGB.…Let's unclamp the signal so we can see…where the color information exceeds the target of 100,…and potentially exposure problems too.…
In the timeline, I'll press x to mark the spot.…From the button editor as well,…if you've reset the workspace, make sure to drop the FX…into your Playback button.…There we go.…I can also, from the Settings menu, choose Loop.…Now as I play this, you'll see the signal play.…Now the fluctuation here is caused by the clamping…so let's re-evoke that and take a look at what's happening.…
You'll notice with the Waveform monitor it's actually…a visual representation of the scene.…Let's change how that information is displayed.…From the popup list, I'll go to Waveform Type…
