Understanding pre- and post -faders

- As we saw in a previous movie, we can send some of the tracks in our video to specific submixes so that we can add one effect that will affect many clips. These sends can be applied pre-fader or post-fader. If you choose pre-fader, the send ignores the fader control track, which means that it will ignore any level changes applied to the track. If you choose post-fader, the send level is based on the fader control. So, if your fader is set to -4 dB, a post-fader send will begin at -4 dB, but a pre-fader send will begin at 0 dB, regardless of the fader level. Let's go ahead and open sequence 3.6 from the project panel. (mouse clicking) And here you're going to see the same sequence that we've been working with in other movies. Let's go ahead and zoom to fit and let's maximize so that we can see these tracks. Notice that I have four tracks: the mandolin, drums, rhythm, and solo, and that they're all going to a master.
