Trimming and mixing

- I'm a real process guy. I like to know the order things are going to happen in and attack an editing project sort of one step at a time, so I couldn't really get out of here without a note on the differences between trimming audio and mixing, and this is one of those cases where there's bound to be a little bit overlap, so I don't want to confuse matters. Let's take a look at a good example. We've actually looked at this one in a previous movie. So I can go ahead and go full screen because I think you've seen it before, and the idea here is, if you remember, we have these natural sounds associated with this clip, (seagulls cawing) and their really kind of nice, and previously we extended them, so they would also go under the next shot or two, and this needs to be appropriately mixed together with the music and all of that good stuff. So, yeah, this would technically be trimming, in other words, because I've lengthened this clip that is an audio trim, but it's pretty much inevitable…
