Join Jason Osder for an in-depth discussion in this video Toggle snapping, part of Premiere Pro Guru: Essential Keyboard Shortcuts.
…I want to talk about snapping and the…keyboard shortcut that turns it on and off.…Let's take again a close look at the timeline.…I'm going to go ahead and expand it to full screen so we can really see this.…And, the button for snapping is right here.…There it is, snapping and you can see right away that the shortcut is S.…So, and if you're not sure what snapping is, it's very tactile so I encourage…to feel it but do you see those arrows that come up, the white arrows?…And, also, if you're, if you're dragging your clip, it's…the tendency for clips to snap together sort of like Leggos.…
That is, it has a tendency not to overlap very much.…But, if you're moving things around they just sort of click and snap together.…And I encourage you to do a little bit…of dragging, comparing snapping on or then tap s.…And now once we're moving around with snapping off, you see…there's no white arrows, there's no tendency to link up like blocks.…Rather, things are free moving and they can slide one right over the other.…
