Switch upgraded and new projects to Metal renderer on Mac
- If you're a Mac user, the choice you have for GPU acceleration has been evolving over the last few years. Apple has moved away from supporting the OpenCL and CUDA platform. And instead you should be relying upon the Metal option. Let me show you where this is. When you choose to create a new project, it's going to prompt you to choose the correct renderer. You'll notice here that it's highlighted and it says Metal Recommended. This is because this is the choice it wants you to choose. Now, if I had Nvidia hardware installed it might list the CUDA option and it would be labeled Deprecated. You also see that OpenCL is also Deprecated. Deprecated just means that this is discontinued and shouldn't be chosen. It is provided just in case you need to switch back to one of these older options, but it's not likely to keep working in the future. So you should try to move past this.
