Scene edit detection for clips
- The next new feature is related to detecting scenes in clips, where there are a change within the video clip. Now, this is far less common these days with digital recording, where a new clip is typically made every time you start and stop the camera. However, if you're working with digitized material or given something that was previously edited that you need to cut into a new production, it's really easy to miss those edit points. And sometimes this leads to flash frames or bad dissolves that you might want to work around. Well, fortunately, Premiere has a way now to analyze these clips and decide how to handle them, splitting them into new clips. The process isn't super fast at this point, but it is very accurate and it is something that can run in the background.
