Replacing images in the Timeline
- Now we're ready to refine or edit. Now, laying in 67 clips all at once is nice, but it's not always perfect. I've changed the label color on two clips I want to replace. This one, here in the middle, is on screen a bit too long, especially for what it is. It's rather confusing, so I want to replace it with something that will hold my viewers attention. Now, while we're in the timeline panel, let's go ahead and mark an 'In' and 'Out' point. Simply by placing my playhead over the clip and pressing, 'x', as in 'x' marks the spot, or in this case, the clip. Now, as a replacement, I've chosen this really cool skull, aptly named Gargoyle's 101 Special. Now, I could simply mark an 'In' point, but no 'Out' point, or I'll get that annoying 'Fit Clip' dialogue box, and then press the period (.) key. Now, just to make sure I don't have an 'Out' point set, I'm going to hit 'ctrl+shift+x' on the clip, and that would be 'opt+x' if it was on a Mac, and now I'm going to do an overwrite edit by…
