Refining a selection to avoid jitter

- Once you've made a basic selection with the define stage, you often want to refine it. This refinement is going to cut down on any unwanted fluctuation. If you've got a moving subject or things blowing in the wind, sometimes it's going to move in and out with subtle shifts. But by blurring our selection, or smoothing it out a bit, we can remove some of these problem areas. Let's take a look here in this shot with the moving grass. And I'll open up the controls and come down here. If we look at the Key, I see that nothing is initially selected. So let's quickly select this bright, vivid green. And we'll take a look at that. I'll view that over black and I see a pretty good selection. Let's play with the Luminosity controls here to define where it's going to go after this. As well as the Saturation. Not bad. That's definitely targeting an effective area. But as the shot moves, it's not quite as smooth as I'd like. So this is where the refinement comes in. Now what we can do is remove…
