The Photo Filter command
- Another option that I like is the Photo Filter command. This makes it easy to warm or cool the shot. Now this is a Photoshop command, but it's also available inside of After Effects, and remember, you can also build a lookup table from any of these adjustments. Let's work in Photoshop to get the proper color temperature, and then we'll save out a lookup table that we can use elsewhere. Here in After Effects, I've already got the footage imported into a project, and I've applied the Photo Filter effect. This effect allows you to change the shot. Let's toggle it off for a moment, and you'll see that the shot looks kind of warm, and pretty flat. Well, the benefit of the Photo Filter is that it allows you to put traditional glass filters onto the footage. If you go to Effects & Presets, and you just type in Photo Filter, you'll find it in the Color Correction category. So for example, you'll see that we have several filters available to cool the shot, and this changes the apparent time…
